Speaking as a violinmaker who has learned to hear sounds and see living beauty, I hope the thoughts contained here will provide an impetus to learn to hear in a musical way as well as with our heart’s ears. I am guided in my mediation by these words spoken by Jesus:
“Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.” (Luke 8:18).
