A violin made from 50,000-year-old wood was heard for the first time in Munich at the weekend. Violin maker Martin Schleske made the instrument from a Kauri trunk that was salvaged from a New Zealand bog, and violinist Ingolf Turban presented this special violin at the world premiere of Enjott Schneider's oratorio “Beatitudes” in Munich's Frauenkirche.
